Background

Effective Development Financing and Coordination (EDFC) project is a joint initiative of the Ministry of Finance and United Nations Development Program. The objective of the EDFC is to further enhance the capacity of Ministry of Finance (MOF) and other relevant stakeholders with a strengthened enabling environment to effectively and efficiently plan, manage and coordinate Official Development Assistance (ODA). EDFC focuses on establishing and strengthening coordination structures in line with the 2014 Development Cooperation Policy and will also help streamline MOF’s standard operating procedures translating global policies and practices on ODA management into a single national system. EDFC will also help enhance the analytical capacity of MOF and other line ministries for the better alignment and prioritization of ODA with national development priorities.

 


Duties and Responsibilities

The Database Management Assistant (DMA) will work under the direct supervision of Deputy Project Manager (DPM)and s/he will be responsible to:

  • Support to design and upgrade database for the International Economic Coordination and Cooperation Division (IECCD).
  • Support to further development of the Aid Management Information System (AMIS)
  • Update AMIS Database User Manual and disseminate.
  • Provide data and information to concerned officers in IECCD and other donors producing monthly, quarterly, and annual reports including other relevant sectoral reports as per the need of the programme.
  • Undertake Analysis of ODA data and provide regular updated facts and figures in table, graphs and charts as per need.
  • Develop appropriate formats for collecting data for database development and management in coordination with IECCD Management Team.
  • Prepare and submit reports based on the information and data received from concerned donors and line ministries.
  • Update IECCD AMIS Portal regularly and provide technical support in computer system (with focus on generating reports).
  • Provide training to counterparts on data analysis.
  • Ensure that AMP data provides disaggregated information by gender and social inclusion.
  • Perform any other duty assigned by programme management.

Required Skills and Experience

Education:

  • Completion of Bachelor's Degree in Computer Engineering, Information Technology or related field.

Experience:

  • 3 years of strong professional experience in analysis and the use of databases, management information system with exposure in the development field.
  • Experience working with Government will be an asset.

Language:

  • Must be fluent in both spoken and written Nepali and English languages.
