The American Embassy in Kathmandu is seeking an individual for the position of Leasing Assistant.

OPEN TO: All Interested Candidates

POSITION: Leasing Assistant, FSN – 8; FP –6
OPENING DATE: July 21, 2017
CLOSING DATE: July 27, 2017
WORK HOURS: Full-time; 40 hours/week

BASIC FUNCTION OF THE POSITION

The incumbent assists the General Services Officer (GSO) in identifying and leasing affordable residential properties. The incumbent advises the GSO in the negotiations of the price and terms of new leases. The incumbent drafts leases and other housing related correspondence; explains the terms of the lease to the landlords; maintains lease files and prepares housing reports. The incumbent coordinates residential make-ready work with various sections within the Embassy and landlords.

General Requirements:

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED

NOTE: Applicants must address each required qualification listed below with specific information supporting each item. Failure to do so will result in a determination that the applicant is not qualified.

EDUCATION: Completion of Higher Secondary School is required.

  1. EXPERIENCE: At least three years real estate or leasing experience, or at least three years of experience in professional administration with duties such as servicing formal committees, researching policy issues, writing papers/reports, data analysis, providing advice on policy matters, liaising with staff at all levels.
  2. LANGUAGE: Level IV (Fluent) Speaking/Reading/Writing English is required. Level IV (Fluent) Speaking/Reading/Writing Nepali is also required. English language ability will be tested.
  3. KNOWLEDGE: Good knowledge of the local housing market and leasing practices is required
  4. SKILLS AND ABILITIES: Strong negotiating, interpersonal and organizational skills are required. The ability to use various Windows-based computer applications is required.
