PHE (Public Health Engineering) Team Leader

 

Only applicable for Nepali Nationals

 

Contract Duration – One year fixed term contract based in Sindhupalchowk

 

Level – C2

 

Job Purpose: To coordinate and lead the District level public health engineering team in the implementation of appropriate and quality WaSH programme activities targeting the earthquake affected areas.

 

The role:

As a PHE Team Leader, you will be responsible for selecting, designing and implementing the most appropriate form of water supply, sanitation and hygiene promotion, in consultation with the beneficiaries, partners, local staff, NGO community and local authorities. You will require to understand and select the most appropriate modality for assistance – cash and/or voucher programming, and or market based approaches. You will also require to liaise closely with the PHP, shelter and food security livelihood teams throughout the planning, design and implementation stages of the Nepal earthquake response – thus ensuring a multisector and integrated response.

 

Requirements:

To be successful in this role, you must have good problem solving, analytical and decision making skills. You must have the ability to write strategies, programme proposals and concise reports sometimes at short notice, reflecting the problems and possible solutions for particular situations. Bachelors Degree in Civil Engineering / Environmental Engineering / Sanitary Engineering / Public Health Engineering (PHE) with proven 5 years experiences in WaSH / Technical sector Or Masters Degree with 3 years experiences in WaSH is required. Most importantly, proven practical experience in developing countries in appropriate emergency and transitional shelter.
