Funding Coordinator

Contract Duration – Fixed term contract until March 2017 based in Kathmandu

 

Level – C2

Job Purpose: To strategically develop and manage new and existing donor relationships and funding for the Nepal Country Programmes (Sustainable Development Programme and Humanitarian Programme), leading on the planning, coordination, securing and management of restricted and unrestricted income to enable Oxfam in Nepal to deliver on the country programme strategy. Building the capacity for quality fundraising and contract management within the country programme is also part of the job.

 

The Role:
As a Funding Coordinator, you will require to lead on establishing and maintaining an up-to-date funding strategy for Oxfam’s development programmes and for humanitarian programmes and lead the implementation of these strategies, with support from the Funding Manager. You will require working effectively with colleagues in other functions, partner organisations, and affiliates to develop joint funding proposals. You will also require ensuring donor contracts are negotiated favourably and in line with Oxfam’s policies and procedures.

 

Requirements to apply for this role are: 
To be successful in this role, you must have excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively with others in diverse team situations to achieve fundraising targets, and influence others internally and externally. You must have the ability to evaluate proposals and reports and make technical recommendations for improvement, with knowledge of Project Cycle Management in development/emergency environments, Log Frame Analysis and other programme development tools. You must also have the ability to research, analyse and report (e.g. researching donor priorities, determining match between external funding opportunities and Oxfam objectives). Masters level degree (in Development Studies or Humanitarian Programming, Business Administration or other relevant fields) or at least 5 years work experience in relevant posts
