Gender Capacity Building Advisor
Applicable for Nepali Nationals only
Level – C2: One year (extendable) fixed term contract based in Kathmandu.
Job Purpose: To support the Gender Team, Humanitarian Department and partners in building capacity and abiding by the Minimum Standards on Gender and safe programming, so that the different needs of men, women, boys, and girls from the most vulnerable population affected by the Earthquake are addressed.
The Role:
You will require to enhance the gendered technical capacity and develop culturally appropriate training methodology, on-the job training in the field with other humanitarian technical support staff from WaSH, EFSVL (Emergency Food Security and Vulnerable Livelihoods), and Protection. You will also require working in close collaboration with Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability and Learning, and ensure Information Management is envisaged in order to translate findings from our needs assessments into programme support.
Requirements to apply for this role are:
Strategic decision maker with high level of interpersonal and communications competencies including tact, diplomacy and negotiation skills. Ability to provide analysis on gender issues. Senior level experience of 5 years in management and/or coordinator position with an excellent understanding of gender mainstreaming and women’s rights in emergencies, protection and disaster risk reduction.
