Job Description

District Support Coordinator – Six months (extendable) fixed term contract based in Dhading

 

Job Purpose: To support the District Programme Manager in the effective delivery of the 2015 Nepal Earthquake Response  by bringing in extensive experience of humanitarian coordination and through building capacity and maintaining  good relationships with new national partner organisations, and facilitating effective communication and working relations with local government bodies and communities.

 

 Responsibilities:

This position will require developing and maintaining positive relations between the local government authorities, Oxfam, new and existing partner organizations and other relevant stakeholders, act as the principle contact person with local NGO partners and District Disaster Relief Committee (DDRC), Chief District Officer (CDO) at the field location. You will also require monitoring implementation of Oxfam partner agreements, identifying partner support needs sharing information with the Programme Coordinator and Technical Team Leads and providing advice to the Programme Coordinator and Oxfam team on relationship management with local NGOs, government and community mechanisms.

 

Requirements:

First degree or equivalent in relevant discipline (agriculture and / or (rural) development studies, economics, sociology, humanities). Minimum of 3 years programme management experience including management of partner relations, multi-cultural teams, financial budgets, donor relations as well as proven competency in external representation.
