KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:: The Head of Partnerships, Communications and Reporting will work under the supervision of the Country Director and will lead and supervise a team of two staff members working in the unit: a Partnerships Officer and a Communications Officer.
Partnerships:
- Lead the design and implementation of the Country Office partnerships vision and workplan to enable WFP to identify, develop and strengthen quality partnerships in support of WFP strategic objectives.
- Oversee a portfolio of partnerships to support the implementation of the Country Strategic Plan. Solicit contributions, provide donor stewardship, forecasting, negotiate changes and assess results, to maximise resources raised.
- Analyse different partners' strategic priorities, research and identify opportunities for funding in existing and new funding mechanisms (local and international) for WFP's work in the CSP with specific recommendations for strategic relationship-building.
- Build and maintain effective relationships with donors, UN agencies, NGOs, host government and other partners, in particular IFIs.
- Develop a clear value proposition aligned with the priorities of the Government and the financing of IFIs, to position WFP as a go-to development partner.
- Proactively support a wide range of aspects of a partnerships portfolio, including partner profiling, data/trends analysis and outreach plan, to maximize resources and leverage policy and technical support for WFP's work.

- Facilitate corporate dialogue with partners through preparation of quality briefing materials; Proactively highlight strategic opportunities and issues to senior management and propose options for the best course of action to nurture trust and interest in the work of WFP.
Communications:
- Oversee the development and implementation of the Country Office communications strategy and work plan.
- Oversee the regular flow of news/information about WFP's and relevant partners' work to the media, including with a view to managing reputational risks.
- Lead the social media plan by overseeing the preparation of social media content, and utilising platforms, networks and partners to enhance coverage and support of WFP's activities.
- Manage the production of donor specific visibility content including, text, photos, videos and audio for use across a range of integrated online platforms, in order to support global and country fund-raising activities, ensuring consistency with corporate messages.
- Support capacity building of WFP staff on all aspects of communication, provides advice and guidance within area and level of expertise, to ensure that all activities meet desired standards of consistency, quality and impact.
Reporting:
- Manage and oversee the adequate implementation of established corporate and country office reporting systems to drive the quality, consistency and standardization of information.
- Oversee the collation of information from internal and external sources to facilitate and maximize the exchange of information and data flow between functional areas in the CO.
- Lead the production of the Annual Country Report (ACR) for the Annual Reporting Exercise in collaboration with all CO units.
- Be responsible for the clearance of various corporate documents, including but not limited to monthly country briefs, situation reports, Executive Director briefs, daily operational briefs, among others.
- Oversee the preparation and clearance of donor reporting requirements.
Job Specification
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:: Education:: Advanced university degree in Political Science, International Development, Development Economics, Journalism, International Relations, Communications or other relevant field, or First University degree with additional years of related work experience and/or training/courses.
Experience:: At least three years of postgraduate (Masters) professional experience in a relevant field of work, preferable in another UN agency/organization, embassy or NGO. Experience in managing a team and guiding and supervising more junior staff, supporting them with more complex analysis and queries.
Experience in designing and managing all resource mobilization processes and resource strategies, negotiated contract terms and provided resourcing advice to seniors.
Knowledge & Skills:: Specialised practical and theoretical knowledge of partnership and information management, negotiation and communication techniques.
Strong written and oral communication skills, including substantive analysis and report writing skills.
Strong analytical skills with the ability to analyse and interpret information and draw out the key messages.
Able to supervise, guide and support more junior and/or less experienced members of the team.
Languages:: Fluency (level C) in English and Nepali. Additional (local) languages are considered an asset.
