Expression Of Interest (EOI) for updating/developing a roster

EXPRESSION OF INTEREST (EOI)

The United Nations World Food Programme Nepal is in the process of updating/developing a roster of international and national non-governmental organizations (I/NGOs) with experience working in the restoration of food security and livelihoods following sudden onset disasters as well as in the earthquake-affected districts specifically. The I/NGOs should have experience working in the following areas:

  1. working with communities to support their livelihood options and building resilience;
  2. vocational training and capacity development resulting in the upskilling/effective and long-term transfer of knowledge to communities, including marginalised groups;
  3. community asset creation activities;
  4. working in coordination with the district and VDC level authorities and
  5. food and cash transfers.
General Requirements:

Interested I/NGOs are requested to provide the following information as part of the EOI:

  • name of organization;
  • key programmes and district(s) of implementation currently in place across Nepal, including earthquake-affected areas;
  • details of current field presence in the districts of operation (including number of field offices, staff capacity and warehousing (MT) capacity);
  • details of previous experience working with WFP (including districts and VDCs covered, beneficiaries/households reached, community infrastructure projects carried out, MT distributed and cash transferred);
  • details of experience working directly in cash transfers (please include districts/VDCs covered, number of households/beneficiaries reached and delivery model used (i.e. bank accounts with financial literacy, branchless banking, remittances and cash in envelope);
  • details of previous experience and programmes implemented working in community livelihood restoration and resilience building in Nepal;
  • Details of experience working with the NRA, Chief District Officers (CDO) and VDC secretaries in the field (please provide details of projects).

All non-Nepali (foreign NGOs) must fulfill the Nepal Government Rules and Regulations

I/NGOs interested in collaborating with WFP to implement such activities are invited to submit an Expression of Interest (EOI) in English, by completing the above questionnaire, indicating their preferred working district/s and providing the contact details of at least two individuals in your organization for future correspondence and notifications related to the EOI. The EOI should be accompanied with legal registration documents showing your right to work in Nepal and sent by mail to honey.basnyat@wfp.org or delivered in a sealed envelope by 5:00 PM, 16 May 2016:
