Job Description

Key Responsibilities: The Project Director will have overall responsibility of an anticipated 2.5-year United States Department of State (USDOS) Gender-based Violence (GBV) Prevention and Response Project in Laos and Nepal. S/he will have overall responsibility for project management, supervision, administration and implementation of the project. S/he will maintain working relationships with project stakeholders, including, but not limited to, host country ministries and GBV prevention and response system stakeholders at the national level, project partners, and sub-grantees, and other relevant national stakeholders; S/he will develop annual capacity and implementation plan for GBV project and implementing partners.

Minimum Qualifications and Experience required: A Master's degree in development sector, preferably Gender Studies, Human Rights, Public Administration, International Development, or a related field or Bachelor's Degree with more than 5 years of experience in management, supervision, administration, and implementation of a United States Government (USG) grant, cooperative agreement, and/or contract requirements; Familiarity with GBV programming and United States Government (USG) assistance programs, their history, and their development; Demonstrated accomplishment in working with host-country professionals, ministries, and with donor colleagues in country and strong teamwork skills.

Core competencies: Excellent oral and written English & Nepali; Demonstrated proficiency in computer applications including use of Microsoft Office; Ready to take initiatives and willing to work under pressure and exhibit a high level of flexibility; Hold a high level of integrity and honesty, self-motivated, confident, and able to work independently; Strategic, creative, and innovative thinking with decision making and problem solving skills; Good understanding of humanitarian Sector; Committed to World Vision Core Values and Mission Statement
