URGENT STAFFING NEEDS FOR WORLD VISION NEPAL RESPONSE:

Our Global Relief Response team, together with our WV Nepal staff, are responding to meet the needs of children and their families hit hard by the devastating earthquake.  We are looking for replacements for nine key roles to take over their work on a longer term basis.

 

PURPOSE OF POSITION:

World Vision is responding with relief efforts after a deadly 7.8 earthquake struck Kathmandu and surrounding areas in Nepal on April 25, 2015.

According to government reports, the quake killed thousands of people and that number is expected to rise. Thousands more were injured and left homeless by the massive earthquake across three other countries - China, Bangladesh and India - in the region.

World Vision has been operating in Nepal since 1982 by providing health-care, relief response to natural disasters, and long-term development work. We are currently seeking professionals to join our global humanitarian response in Nepal, who are passionate about protecting lives, restoring dignity and renewing hope, especially among children affected by conflict and natural disaster.

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

The Program Manager oversees the Programming Team, including Program Officer(s), DME, and Humanitarian Accountability. The PM supports the Response Manager and Operations Manager in designing the response strategy and operations plan. The PM is responsible to manage grant acquisition, assessments, monitoring and humanitarian accountability.

 

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:

Masters Degree in International Development, International Relations, or related study.

Minimum 5 years of experience with government and multilateral organisations procedures and regulations.

Minimum 5 years of experience in successful proposal writing and management of proposal development teams.

Very strong interpersonal skills.

Track record of success in partner and donor relations.

High performance and quality standards.

Ability to motivate teams and inspire teamwork.

Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
