URGENT STAFFING NEEDS FOR WORLD VISION NEPAL RESPONSE:

Our Global Relief Response team, together with our WV Nepal staff, are responding to meet the needs of children and their families hit hard by the devastating earthquake.  We are looking for replacements for nine key roles to take over their work on a longer term basis.

PURPOSE OF POSITION:

  1. World Vision is responding with relief efforts after a deadly 7.8 earthquake struck Kathmandu and surrounding areas in Nepal on April 25, 2015.
  2. According to government reports, the quake killed thousands of people and that number is expected to rise. Thousands more were injured and left homeless by the massive earthquake across three other countries - China, Bangladesh and India - in the region.
  3. World Vision has been operating in Nepal since 1982 by providing health-care, relief response to natural disasters, and long-term development work. We are currently seeking professionals to join our global humanitarian response in Nepal, who are passionate about protecting lives, restoring dignity and renewing hope, especially among children affected by conflict and natural disaster.

KEY RESPONSIBILTIES:

The Human Resources Manager will support the strategic direction of the Response through development, implementation, monitoring, evaluation and reporting of strategic HR policies, procedure, systems & programs and to ensure that HR standards & organizational culture are coherent to WV partnership.
 
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:

  1. University degree or qualification in Human Resources or Business Administration or relevant field.
  2. 5 years of experience in emergency response sector in human resources, administration.
  3. Strong interpersonal skills as positions provides strategic partnering consultancy and guidance to business unit leaders, managers, supervisors and employees in various human resource functions including employee and labor relations, HR policies and total rewards, performance management and talent management.
  4. Conflict management, problem solving, self-management (work life balance) during responses.
