Job Description

World Vision International Nepal (WVIN), an international Christian relief, development and advocacy organisation dedicated to working with children, families and communities to overcome poverty and injustice, is looking for potential Nepalese candidates to fill out the following positions:

I. Position: Communications Manager - based in National Office

Key Responsibilities: Communications Manager will be responsible to develop and implement a comprehensive communications strategy for the organization, provide strategic advice to senior leadership on mitigating organizational reputational risks. S/he will ensure supporter and staff engagement: establish relation with media and partnerships for organizational visibility.The position will build the reputation and influence of WVI Nepal through mainstream and social media to mobilize public for social change and policy influence. S/he will develop and promote evidence-based content for resource generation and strategic priorities. The position will be responsible to improve staff engagement through internal communications that mobilizes staff for strategy execution and impact generation.

Minimum Qualifications and Experience required: Master's degree in mass communications/journalism, social science or- equivalent with at least five years professional experience in development sector specifically on communications, external engagement or media relations. Should have knowledge of advocacy, development, relief work and understanding of media in Nepal. Should have excellent writing skills with photography and/or videography skills, conducting interviews and experience of working in the field context when required. Should have proven experience of general project management. The experience in the production of diverse and creative communications projects including publications, multi¬media, and websites/pages management will be of an add value. Should have knowledge and skills in interpersonal and cross-cultural communication and demonstrated ability to think and manage strategically. Should have proven English & Nepali language fluency (written and verbal) along with the experience in people and performance management is desirable.
