Job Description

Position: Field DRR Project Coordinator (Two)-based in East and West Regional Office (Until Sep 2018)

Key Responsibilities: The Field DRR Project Coordinator will work closely with WVIN Team and partner NGO and provide overall leadership on project implementation in West/East districts. He/She will foster and maintain relationship with relevant GoN agencies and other stakeholders at the District and Local level. He/She will also take the lead for district and Rural Municipality level implementation of the Enhancing Disaster Response Capacity through Disaster Preparedness project in the target areas.The role is expected to travel to field area to deliver training and project monitoring up to 70% of time across the country.

Minimum Qualifications, Experience and competencies required for both positions:

A Bachelor's degree (Masters preferred) in Disaster Risk Management/Environment Science/Social Work/Development Studies/Social Science, or relevant discipline from recognised university with at least 3 years' experience in development sector with INGO preferably in Disaster Risk Management: Should have experience in working with community/grassroots people and organizations, specially focused on Community Disaster Risk Management, Early Warning System, DRR Advocacy and Lobby; Should have extensive experience and recognized expertise in DRR models and methods of training, facilitation and capacity building, project management and organizational development for staffs and communities:Thorough understanding and experience about Nepal Government's DRR strategies, policies, framework and guidelines; Experience in managing grants; Must have knowledge in using logical frameworks and project monitoring; Excellent oral and written English & Nepali: Demonstrated proficiency in computer applications including use of Microsoft Office; Ready to take initiatives and willing to work under pressure and exhibit a high level of flexibility; Hold a high level of integrity and honesty, self-motivated, confident. and able to work independently; Strategic, creative, and innovative thinking with decision making and problem solving skills: Good understanding of humanitarian Sector; Committed to World Vision Core Values and Mission Statement.
