Job Description

Position: Deputy Children in Emergencies Manager (One)
Job Location: WVI – NER HQ, Lalitpur

 

Work Purpose: Provide consolidated information and assessment of the Child Protection program needs for WVIN response, from available secondary information and stakeholder discussions with key Child Protection actions such as UNICEF, OCHA, other INGOs and the government

Minimum Qualifications and Experience required:

ï‚· Master’s Degree in Education/Social Science/Rural Development/Gender & Development/Psychology or relevant subject from recognized university with at least five years’ experience in education in Emergency program.

ï‚· Has solid background in education in emergency particularly education in emergency curriculum packages and deliverables

ï‚· Approved knowledge in pedagogy or educational planning

ï‚· Excellent training skills in defined education components

ï‚· Experience in education project management, monitoring and supervision
ï‚· Excellent knowledge in children in emergency context play space, play to learn and learning to learn, environment and personal hygiene, restoration, etc.

ï‚· Enthusiastically and energetic to make a difference upon children education in emergency situation
ï‚· Demonstrated ability to work in a multi-cultural environment and establish harmonious and effective
ï‚· Excellent leadership, analytical, negotiating, communication and advocacy skill

ï‚· Excellent capacity in facilitating training and preparing user friendly manuals and toolkits

ï‚· Has strong networking, team spirit, partnership, coordination and harmony skills

ï‚· Willing to adapt with new working environment, new challenges, colleagues and work
ï‚· Proven knowledge on building the capacity of stakeholders in the area of child functional literacy, basic operation, school improvement options and leadership skills

ï‚· Knowledge of and adherence to the Red Cross and NGO Code of Conduct

ï‚· Excellent English & Nepali communication skills (oral and written)

ï‚· Demonstrated proficiency in computer applications including use of Microsoft Office Suite
ï‚· Have positive learning attitude and concern for the poor and vulnerable people
ï‚· Have high level of integrity and honesty, self-motivated, confident, and independent
