Job Description

Vacancy Notice No: VN#NP/104/15

Position Title: Health Assistant - 1 position

Classification: SAI, 3 months with possibility of extension, ungraded (equivalent to Grade – 4)

 

Purpose of the post: The successful candidate will assist in the clinical activities of Emergency TB project, particularly in the operation of chest camps.

 

Major Duties and Responsibilities:

1) Assist the Team Leader in the organization of the chest camps; 2) Assist in the patient examination, screening and diagnosis in the chest camps; 3) Dispense and keep record of the medicines distributed in the chest camps; 4) Provide proper health education and counselling to TB patients and motivate for treatment enrolment and compliance; 5) Fill up all relevant form, format and register and keep records of patients attending the chest camps; 6) Do tracing of lost to follow up cases including initial defaulters and refer to nearest TB treatment centre for resumption of treatment; 7) Assist and perform data entry; 8) Provide assistance and logistic and secretarial support for training, workshop and meeting

 

Required Qualifications and Competencies:

a) Health Assistant with at least 3-4 years clinical experience b) Capacity to work independently and under time constraints c) Demonstrated ability in dealing with people of various backgrounds, ages, etc.; respect for diversity d) Ability to work effectively and harmoniously within a team of colleagues from varied cultures and professional backgrounds e) Excellent communication skills (working knowledge of English required).
