HERD International is engaged in strengthening the generation, translation, and effective use of evidence to inform policies, programs, and decision-making at all levels. To enhance its capacity in high-quality design, visualization, and communication of research evidence, HERD International seeks to engage a part-time consultant in Graphics Design and Data Visualisation. The consultant will support the development of visually compelling and audience-specific communication products that enhance the accessibility and impact of research findings.

Key Responsibilities:

The part-time consultant will perform the following key tasks:

  • Design high-quality infographics, dashboards, and visual summaries of research outputs.
  • Support layout and design of reports, presentations, and publications.
  • Create visual communication materials including audience-tailored knowledge products.
  • Transform complex evidence and datasets into clear, accurate, and compelling visualisations.
  • Provide high-level design support for workshops, events, and advocacy materials.

Job Specification

Qualification, competencies and experience:

The consultant should possess following:

  • A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Graphics Design, Multimedia, Information Design, Communication Design, or a related field; a Master’s Degree is preferred.
  • At least 5 years of relevant experience in graphics design, data visualisation, or communication design.
  • Proven experience in designing data-driven visual products, including infographics, dashboards, and publication layouts.
  • Strong technical skills in relevant design tools (Adobe Creative Suite, data visualisation software) and the ability to translate complex information into accessible visual formats.
