Position: Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Data Scrutiny

Background

To strengthen data-driven decision-making and innovation in project implementation, HERD International seeks to enhance organizational capacity in the ethical and effective use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and advanced data analytics. AI-driven insights can improve program design, operational efficiency, and evidence generation for policy and management decisions. To support these objectives, HERD International seeks to engage a part-time consultant in AI and Data Scrutiny to provide technical expertise in AI tools, data analysis, ethical standards, and capacity building.

Key Responsibilities:

The part-time consultant will perform the following key tasks:

  • Design and deliver training sessions for staff on the effective and ethical use of AI tools, building organizational capacity to leverage AI in project implementation and decision making.
  • Develop guidelines, protocols, and best practices for the use of AI tools within the organization, ensuring alignment with data protection, privacy, and ethical standards.
  • Support project teams in integrating AI-driven insights into research, program design, and decision-making processes to enhance efficiency and impact.
  • Monitor emerging trends in AI and data analytics, providing recommendations for innovative tools and methods that can strengthen overall organizational management and data-driven decision-making.

Job Specification

Qualification, competencies and experience:

The consultant should possess following:

  • A minimum of a master’s degree in computer science, data science, artificial intelligence, Information Technology, or a related field; a PhD is preferred.
  • At least 5 years of relevant professional experience in AI, data analytics, or related technology application in research or program management.
  • Experience in developing and delivering training programs on AI tools and ethical AI practices
  • Demonstrated experience in providing technical guidance for integrating AI into program design, decision-making, and organizational processes.
