Job Description

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

Enumerators key roles and responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

  • Attend training sessions on study protocols, ethical standards, safety procedures, and digital data tools (e.g., KoboCollect), ensuring data collection tools readiness.
  • Coordinate with local stakeholders to verify households in selected enumeration areas (EAs), prepare household lists, and apply systematic sampling to select eligible study participants.
  • Identify and interview individuals aged 18+ with a minimum of 8th-grade education, using random selection within households.
  • Conduct structured interviews with household members and key informant interviews with managers, ensuring adherence to protocol and data accuracy.
  • Maintain professionalism and ethical standards, ensuring confidentiality, informed consent, and respectful engagement with all participants.
  • Collaborate with team members and supervisors, participate in daily briefing sessions, and report progress or challenges in the field.
  • Verify and correct data, checking completeness before leaving households and revisiting if discrepancies are flagged by the data monitoring team.

The above list of responsibilities is not comprehensive, and the Enumerators may be required to take on additional responsibilities, as determined by the reporting Manager or other senior team members, to meet study needs and requirements.

Job Specification

MINUMUM REQUIREMENTS

  • A bachelor’s degree in Public Health, Statistics, Social Sciences or any other relevant discipline.
  • Preference will be given to candidates who have knowledge of health statistics, routine health information systems and/or disease surveillance systems of Nepal.
  • Preference will be given to relevant professional experience.
  • Willing to visit hard-to-reach areas.
  • Proficient in Nepali and other local languages (preferred).
  • Must be a Nepali citizen
