Job Description

Position: Specialist.
Department: Legal.
Vacancy Reference No: KTM-210.
Duty Station: Kathmandu.
Number of requirement: 1.
This position requires native Nepali language skills in both writing and speaking and it is basically focused for local people of Nepal
 
Main responsibility areas:
  • Review and draft contracts, agreements and ensure that they are in compliance all statutory or legal requirements. 
  • Review and provide legal advice on the contracts /tender documents.
  • Review ongoing contract related cases and advice management team accordingly if and when needed.
  • Liaise with relevant departments to ensure the legal risks and take appropriate action.
  • Analyze and generalize the result of claims/cases of consideration.  
  • Generalize and analyze the company’s current practice of contracts/agreements execution and compliance therewith, the results of claim consideration, proposes improvements to the management.
  • Participate in the making and development of drafts, negotiation of contracts/agreements, regulating commercial relations with organizations as well as draft orders, instructions and letters regulating the company’s internal activity pursuant to current legislation. 
  • Draft all legal documents on behalf of the company as well as draft letter related to Government & Non-government bodies, reviews and verify the correspondence of governmental authorities.
  • Prepare contracts (drafting new contacts, amending existing contract forms, bringing contract provisions in line with legislative requirements, maintaining correspondence related to contract terms and conditions). Participate in resolution of disputes related to contract execution and counterparties’ performance there under.

Your qualification and experience:
  • Minimum of Bachelor degree in Law.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in the corporate & commercial legal field of jurisprudence with special focus on drafting/negotiating of contracts and legal documents.

  • Advocate License is preferable
  • Ability to type in Nepali and English
  • Ability to deal with stakeholders 
  • Ready to work in a team
  • Understanding & Preparing different agreements and legislation
  • Contract management skills
  • Planning skills and effective result orientate
  • Advanced PC user;
  • Good Knowledge of Legislation and other normative Acts of Nepal as well as current legislative practice
  • Qualified and good knowledge of judiciary and bodies
  • Should be flexible with working time.
