Job Description

This position requires native Nepali language skills in both writing and speaking and it is basically focused for local people of Nepal.

Main responsibility areas:

  • Works out and prepares contracts /agreements (drafting new contacts, amending existing contract forms, bringing contract provisions in line with legislative requirements, maintaining correspondence related to contract terms and conditions) and ensure they comply with all statutory or legal requirements.
  • Liaise with relevant departments to ensure that where legal risks have been identified, appropriate courses of action have been taken
  • Review and provide legal advice on the contracts /tender documents
  • Review ongoing cases and advice management team accordingly if and when needed
  • Performs activities related to execution/filing suits and handling legal proceedings under a Power of Attorney
  • Generalizes and analyzes the company’s current practice of contracts/agreements execution and compliance therewith, the results of claims consideration, proposes improvements
  • Draft all legal documents on behalf of the company as well as draft letter related to Government & Non-government bodies and reviews and verifies the correspondence of governmental authorities
  • Participates in resolution of disputes related to contracts execution and counterparties’ performance there under
  • Translate the legal documents from English and Nepali and vice versa.                                                                     
  • Organizes and controls activity of translators’ group, as well as monitors outsourced translation services provided by translation agencies

Your qualification and experience

  • Minimum of Bachelor degree in Law
  • More than 3 years of experience in the corporate & commercial legal field of jurisprudence.

  • Advocate license in preferable
  • Ability to deal with stakeholders
  • Understanding & preparation of different agreements and legislation
  • Good knowledge of contract management skills;
  • Should flexible with working time
  • Planning skills and effective result orientate;
  • Advanced PC user;
  • Legislative and other normative acts of Nepal as well as current legislative practice;
  • Qualified and good knowledge of judiciary acts and bodies.
