Job Description

Position: Chief Information Officer
Duty Station: Kathmandu

This position requires international exposure in IT with sufficient exposure in multinational Telecommunication sector.

Main responsibility areas:

  • Plans, organizes and controls all activities of the IT Department in accordance with the goals and objectives of the organization. Responsible for the overall operation, future proofing, development and implementation of BSS/CSS/ESS/OSS/VAS portfolio, products and services from technology side.
  • Makes annual operational plan, headcount plan, budget (as delegated) and KPIs. Support and identify the Department level strategy, vision, mission, targets and KPIs within the delegated frame.
  • Analyses and estimates performance effectiveness of employees. Organizes work on personnel evaluation and participates in development of measures based on personnel appraisal results, training & development plans. Participates in the interview for recruiting employees of Technology Department.
  • Builds and maintains high performance culture through effective performance management, communication and coaching the employee.
  • Provides overall supervision, direction and control for technology choices keeping in view the latest trends in technology, digitization, IT architecture, regulatory framework, device ecosystem, user preferences / customer experience & cyber security
  • Reviews annual budget and business plan of Ncell for IT OPEX, CAPEX and ROIC.
  • Supports/Leads projects of OPEX optimizations, technical bidding and network planning.
  • Synergizes best practices and ensure implementation of uniform network SOPs in Ncell.
  • Responsible in tackling with IT performance issues and KPIs.
  • Reviews of latest technological evolutions focused around IT OPEX efficiency and implement appropriate processes/procedures.
  • Identifies areas of improvements in group common technical product management; product development forums.
  • Supports both Commercial and Product Management in product lifecycle management and product evaluation and strategic product roadmaps from IT perspective.
  • Organizes work on Code of Ethics and Conduct continuous communication to all employees of IT department.
  • Demonstrates an intellectual and professional leadership style that supports attainment of respect and creditability by others.
  • Develops organizational capability & business processes for effective planning, architecture , application and system development, time to market, service delivery, operations support, cross functional coordination, quality control , cyber security & vendor governance
  • Delivers superior customer experience and user interface ( UI / UX )

Your qualification and experience:

  • Minimum of Bachelor of Electronics Engineering
  • At least 20 years of experience with 10 years of managerial role and proven track record in IT function in Telecom Sector in multinational business environment.
