Job Description

Qualifications

Master’s degree in education, social sciences or gender studies with a minimum of 3 years relevant field experience and project management. The incubement must have at least 2years and above direct experience working with girls and/or women and coordinating with social service agencies. Experience in people management, research, social analysis and projects involving multiple partners or stakeholders is desirable. Knowledge of existing policies related to Women and Child Rights and Gender issue in Nepal will be an advantage.

Knowledge Skills and Expertise

• Project management skills (including financial management, human resource management, leadership and team building skills)

• Well informed on girls education related developmental issues and policies

• Expertise in human rights based programming and monitoring required. Technical expertise in gender, social inclusion and women’s rights

• Good knowledge of the political context and key policies relating to women’s and girls’ rights

• Knowledge of key organizations, advocacy coalitions and movements at local and national level working to address early marriage or promote women’s and girls’ rights

• Knowledge of human rights based programming and (national and international) frameworks

• Familiarity with the formal and non formal education different approach, system and policy

• Women’s and girls’ situation in Nepal and related policies

• Proven experience in civil society mobilization, networking and alliance building.

• Monitoring, evaluation and learning, documentation and report writing skills (good English and Nepali writing skills)

• Ability to use computer to run MS Office application and software packages

• Ability to inspire, motivate, influence and coach staff and other people for independent action and learning

• Ability to hold staff accountable for delivery on agreed commitments

• Strategic thinking and ability to assess risks and suggest mitigation measures

• Ability to seek solutions to obstacles and problems and act to solve problems

• Develop strategies for dealing with multidimensional issues (and linking local to national and international processes)

• Ability to engage confidently and accurately in English (written and speaking)
