Job Description

CARE Nepal is an international humanitarian organization working in the country for the past 42 years. It currently works in 55 districts through various programs on issues relating to improving the lives of the poorest and most vulnerable populations through programs that work on the following themes: food security and climate change; emergency preparedness and DRR; sexual reproductive and maternal health; gender based violence; women and girls’ leadership. Marginalized Women and Adolescent Girls are our two primary impact groups. Core priorities include investment in the empowerment and leadership of women and girls, reaching hard to reach population, good governance and accountability, working in partnership and alliance with likeminded actors, and evidence-based advocacy.
CARE Nepal hereby invites applications, for the below mentioned position, from interested Nepalese candidates.
 

Communications Trainee – based in Kathmandu (reserved for candidates from marginalized groups)
Key responsibilities:

  • Communications Trainee will support Communications Team to design, develop, publish and share information and communication materials of CARE Nepal. S/he will also assist in media monitoring, translation of documents, photo/video editing and archiving of communication materials.

Preferred Qualifications and Experience:

  • Completed intermediate level or earned or pursuing higher degree in Mass Communication, Journalism or related field. Some experience in writing, editing, and proof reading in English and Nepali along with expertise in graphics design, layouts, and publication is required.

Organization Summary
