Job Description

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in gender studies, development studies, social sciences or related subject with 3 years relevant experience in the field of Gender, Diversity and Social Norms.
  • Experience of working with partners and networks including familiarity with tools used for GED and social norms change.
  • Experience with capacity building of staff, convening and facilitating trainings and workshops at national, sub national and district level.
  • Experience of working with adolescents, GBV issues and behavior change of people.
  • Experience of facilitating community dialogue.
  • Preferably experience working with International NGOs in similar profile

Knowledge and Skills and Competencies:

  • In-depth knowledge on social norms, related national policies, plans and programs including organizations working on social norms
  • Practical knowledge of using tools for social norms change in program components/initiatives and monitoring tools
  • Knowledge of documentation and dissemination, good reporting skills and experience of preparing reports.
  • Excellent communication, documentation skills, analytical ability and capable to document in Nepali and English, able to communicate with sensitivity and foster communication, actively listening to others. 
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and demonstrated ability to establish effective and working relations with national and local staff and other stakeholders, able to work effectively with other people within a team and working group
  • Ability to develop capacity building frameworks, training manuals and work plans; able to foster the development of others by providing a supportive learning environment
  • Ability to communicate ideas and information in writing to ensure that information and messages are understood and have the desired impact; able to present information and express opinions confidently to internal and external audiences
  • Ability to deal with situations and issues proactively and persistently; able to contribute effectively to a culture that positively values the diversity of people, values and ideas within CARE Nepal
  • Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office Software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Child Centered facilitation skill would be an added asset.

Organization Summary
