Job Description

Position: Project Coordinator – Education

Location: Mahottari, Nepal

Department: Programme Operations

Type: Fixed-term contract

The Project Coordinator -Education is overall responsible for providing technical and managerial leadership in the education component of CCP funded (Reduced Early Child and Forced Marriage) RCEFM Project in the Rautahat/Mahottari district. He/she is primarily responsible for providing technical insights to capacity development initiatives of teachers/tutors of the remedial and bridging programs as well as ensure that the remedial and bridging classes are effectively rolled out as per the quality standard set by the project. Besides, s/he is also responsible to closely work with the implementing partners/resource organizations, media houses to develop the capacity of the local structures and other relevant stakeholders especially with regard to effective implementation of remedial and bridging programs as well as community actions.

The position holder is responsible for leading quality delivery of the education component of the RCEFM program by maximizing his/her time to the quality monitoring and support to the remedial and catch-up interventions at implementing sites. S/He will ensure that the remedial and bridging centers are safe, protective, and resourceful and quality teaching and learning activities are taken place on a regular basis. He/She is also responsible for financial and partnership management with relevant stakeholders in close consultation with Sr. Project Coordinator, Sr. Technical Coordinator- education, country office technical team, and field team, and best utilizes the available resources to attain the project goals. S/he will have to closely work with logistic and procurement and also the media and communication team of CO and field.

The position holder also stands for quality monitoring and backstopping support to the implementing partner, local structure, and other relevant stakeholders when relevant. S/he is responsible to coordinate with cross-thematic teams of Save the Children Nepal as well.

The duties and responsibilities as set out above are not exhaustive and the role holder may be required to carry out additional duties within reasonableness of their level of skills and experience.

Job Specification

  • Master's degree or equivalent in Education or related Social Science(s).

  • At least 3 years of working experience in managing Education projects/programs preferably at I/NGOs.

  • Work experiences in a humanitarian context are given preference.

  • Interpersonal communication and coordination.

  • Leadership & Management, Program designing, Advocacy & lobbying, Negotiation, and Resource mobilization.

  • Reporting writing and analytical skills

  • Training, coaching, & mentoring
