Emergency response: Advocacy Manager, Nepal Earthquake Response

In response to the current situation in Nepal, Save the Children is in the process of putting together a team provide emergency response support. As part of this we are looking for an Advocacy Manager to provide expertise and support to our upscale in the area.

Save the Children is currently responding to the Nepal earthquake. We are aiming to reach 600,000 people (including 240,000 children) in the most affected districts.

The advocacy manager will provide overall leadership and management of the humanitarian advocacy work of Save the Children's response to the Nepal earthquake. You will be responsible for the development and implementation of advocacy strategies that will influence government authorities at all levels and other key stakeholders of the humanitarian response to achieve positive and lasting changes to fulfil children's rights both in the immediate relief phase of the response as well as in the recovery, rehabilitation and reconstruction phase. You will operate in a fast changing and stimulating environment. You will be able to draw on Save the Children's long standing experience of working in Nepal. Your work can make a real difference to ensure that the response to humanitarian needs is timely and principled.

The post is based in Kathmandu, with regular travels to the districts affected by the earthquake. 

Deployments are expected to last for one year with the possible of extension where funding can be secured.
