Job Description

Technical Specialist – Clinical Services Monitoring

The Technical Specialist - Clinical Services Monitoring will be responsible for monitoring Expanded Integrated Health Services being implemented by the project and analyzing and evaluating program achievements. H/She should be able to continuously review and assess research and program generated information and determine its implications to the program. This position will also be responsible for capacity building and technical supervision of the EIHS services being implemented by the project. S/he will be responsible for:

  • Perform analysis and develop tracking systems to determine the effectiveness of program being implemented.
  • Regularly share the analysis and its implication to the program and technical team and contribute to performance improvement.
  • Monitor field level activities and assist the project implementing partners in assessing their own performance and adjusting technical activities on an ongoing basis to ensure program impact.
  • Provide, where needed, technical support in the development of technical documents guidelines, curriculums, SOPs and SBC materials.
  • Conduct supportive monitoring visits to the implementing partners and ensure standards and quality of the services being provided.
  • Support Strategic Behavioral and Communication (SBC) unit in developing and designing SBC materials.
  • In coordination with M&E unit, conduct regular analysis of EIHS data (STI, VCT, EPC, FP and CHBC) including the utilization of services and share with technical team.
  • Coordinate with program officers and through them with implementing agencies for technical activities- warm line, EID babies follow up, lost to follow up tracking in CHBC and EPC follow up, provide support to conduct national training, and facilitate other learning activities.

Qualifications:

Medical degree with MPH with at least three years of minimum relevant work experience. Medical doctors will be preferred.  The candidate should have strong technical knowledge in clinical HIV or FP.

Proven track record in program data analysis or involvement in research will be an asset.

Ability to work in the team and develop and maintain positive working relationships. Proactive and independent approach to work with willingness to undertake additional responsibilities and perform multiple tasks.
