Civil Society Director
The Civil Society Director (CSD) is a senior position responsible for leading the design and implementation of all civil society activities under the CS:MAP. The CSD will supervise the Civil Society Team and closely work with the Media Team. Capacity Building Team and Grants Management Team to ensure effective implementation of the project's civil society strengthening activities designed to: strengthen the organizational capacity of civil society organizations (CSOs); improve the civil society infrastructure for democratic processes; increase civil society participation in, and contributions to, public policy debates and resulting legal and political reforms; and increase civil society engagement with public officials to promote the reform process and accountable public resource use and service delivery.
Qualifications:
PhD or Masters degree in a relevant field with a minimum of seven years of work experience in areas of civil society strengthening, governance and policy issues around civil society and government engagement and/or in a development sector related to the area of work for this position. Experience in project management and solid knowledge of the Nepalese civil society sector is required. Prior experience with advocacy work, influencing public policy and monitoring government performance, gender equality and social inclusions will be added assets.
For given position, strong experiences on gender equality and social inclusion, including work experience with youth, women, Dalit, Janajati, and Madhesi groups will be an asset.
