Job Description

This position will be based in Nepalgunj, Nepal.

Specific duties:

  • Coordinate NSAF seed systems trial activities in collaboration with IRRI, CEPREAD, NARC, seed companies and NGO partners at the TRP center.
  • Provide agronomy support to all NSAF partners in the region in conducting different trials supporting seed systems.
  • Provide practical training to farmers, extensions workers, farm advisors and researchers from the partners.

Required academic qualifications, skills and attitudes:

  • MSc in Agronomy or plant breeding with minimum 3 years of experience in conducting trials on a research farm.
  • Significant and demonstrated practical experience in field-based varietal testing activities.
  • Excellent communication and team-building skills with a demonstrated ability to liaise with the national system and local government.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to communicate research results effectively to a wide range of audiences through peer reviewed publications and other means
