Job Description

This position will be based in Mid-West or Far West Nepal.

Specific duties:

  • Supervise and manage day-to-day activities of staff in all project sites.
  • Ensure frequent communication with senior technical staff and senior managers
  • Work with project and objective leads to develop and refine/revise work plans.
  • Visit project sites frequently and conducting all aspects of activities.
  • Catalyze sustainable partnerships among public and private sector entities.
  • Conduct farmers infield demonstrations, field days, and farmers’ trainings.
  • Assist, monitor and evaluate and reporting efforts
  • Follow best practice of data collection such that data are organized, managed, stored and archived  in accordance with USAID and CIMMYT norms.

Required academic qualifications, skills and attitudes:

  • PhD in Agricultural Sciences or a Master’s degree.
  • At least 7 years of experience in agricultural cropping systems.
  • Experience managing field teams, particularly those that are spread out geographically.
  • Ability to create a working environment that is respectful of all team members.
  • Proficiency in written and spoken English.
  • Good understanding of the fertilizer industry in Nepal a plus.
