DanChurchAid (DCA) is a faith-based, non-missionary organization. We work for the poor, vulnerable and socially excluded communities and believe in life before death. In Nepal and Bangladesh, we are involved in several thematic areas with our work focusing on resilient livelihood, active citizenship and migrants’ rights, among others. The DCA SARO invites applications from qualified and competent candidates for the position of Regional Program Officer (Active Citizenship) based in Kathmandu.
This is a senior level position and will be responsible for planning, implementation, monitoring, supervision, reporting of Active Citizenship Program in Nepal and Bangladesh. The position would also be responsible for partnership management and development, advocacy, liaison, coordination and networking. In addition the position would be responsible in providing strategic development and delivery of an integrated active citizenship programme, and develop concept notes, project proposal for fundraising. The position will be based in Kathmandu with frequent field visits. S/he will report to Head of Programme.
Required qualifications and competencies: Postgraduate degree in related field with 8-10 years of relevant work experience. Strong understanding about the human rights approach to development and humanitarian work and conceptual clarity about the priority and cross cutting themes – gender, Right Based Approach, and Accountability. The person should have conversant in strategic management, project cycle management, policy advocacy, fund raising and knowledge management, good knowledge of financial and human resources management S/he has excellent communication skills (written and spoken) in English with Nepali.
