DCA is implementing a DFID funded consortium project – “Rapid Community WASH Recovery Project in Dhading and Gorkha District. The project seeks to support local and national government recovery plans to build back better and more resilient and equitable water schemes and WASH infrastructure. The project will ultimately increase access to water; reduce the risk of WASH related diseases; improve quality of life and increase the availability of information on water sources and other related WASH components in the target VDCs.This is 10 months projects and subject to approval. DCA invites applications from qualified and competent candidates for the position of Hygiene Promotion Officer. The position will be for 10 months with possibility of extension depending on funding.
Key Responsibilities:
S/he will be mainly responsible for taking lead for Hygiene activities in both districts and responsible for carrying out hygiene promotion activities, and responsible to plan, monitor, implement and reporting of hygiene activities in the field. In addition, s/he would be responsible for the coordination, networking, and provide technical support to the partners, and other stakeholders. The position will be district based ( Gorkha or Dhading) and responsible for frequent field travels to both districts.
Required qualifications and competencies:
Bachelor in public health with 3 – 5 years of relevant work experience ( experience in community based drinking water scheme would add value) . Should have excellent understanding in promotion of Hygiene activities in the community and should have knowledge of community volunteer mobilization to promote the hygiene education in community. . The person should have excellent community mobilization, planning , coordination and networking skills at field level. Fluency in spoken and written English and Nepali is essential.
