Job Description

Responsibilities:

  • Maintain and ensure the operability of workplace IT, Networks, and management information and communication systems
  • Provide technical assistance to projects/programmes and be responsible for general administrative tasks for the entire IT system in Nepal office
  • Update/upgrade GIZ Nepal IT guidelines/policy as and when required (Security. Backup. Networking, software and hardware policy)
  • Assume responsibility for activities, procedures and software applications related to ICT policies and strategies and providing training to all GIZ Nepal staff regarding to ICT topics as required
  • Be responsible for development, installation and maintenance of server or mobile devices based on customized software applications in the framework of GIZ Nepal
  • Lead the process of digitalization and support the organization in planning, rolling out and implementation of various digital platforms (both internal and external)
  • Support procurement department in the possible new hardware/network purchases, while observing GIZ standards and policy
  • Support in knowledge/data management and assist PR on developing templates, designs and any other PR materials and related assignments

Required qualifications and experience:

  • Master's degree in Information Technology or Computer Science or a related degree with 6 years of relevant experience or Bachelor Degree in the same freldwith more than 8 years of experience
  • MCSE (Microsoft Certified System Engineer) certification, RHCE (Red Hat Certified Engineer) will be an added advantage
  • Significant technology understanding and/or experience including Microsoft desktop and network operating systems, servers, virtualization technologies and cloud computing
  • Experience in troubleshooting system and network problems and diagnosing and solving hardware or software faults
  • Outstanding working knowledge of ITC technologies (related software, phone, fax, email, the internet) and computer applications (e.g. MS Office 2010/18)
  • Ability to work independently, with solution and service oriented attitude, under pressure and ability to meet deadlines and performance standards
  • Reliable team player with excellent leadership and interpersonalskills
  • Excellent communication skills in English and Nepali 1:both written and verbal) and working knowledge of German will be an asset
