Job Description
Position: Programme Officer - Capacity Building of the National Implementation Unit (NIU)! Ministry of Commerce (MoC)
Responsibilities

Support the extended NIU in fulfilling its multiple tasks. including: NTIS coordination, cross cutting issues and its monitoring
-
Support the implementation of the Capacity Development Strategy of MoC

Support MoC in strengthening the competencies of the WTO Focal Points and their role in the coordination and implementation of the NTIS
-
Play advisory role regarding the development of the Nepalese Trade Polity, and VI: U related issues
-
Facilitate increased regional exchange of good practices in the conteKt of Enhanced Integrated Framework (El F) implementation
-
Act as a liaison between the GIZ Programme team and the extended NIU
-
Work on trade related matters0C matters, as instructed by the NIU Chief
-
Coordinate with the Development Partners working with the NIU

Support the German Embassy on its role as the Aid for Trade (AfT) Donor Facilitator
Required qualifications and experience
-
Master's degree in Economics, International Trade. Management or relevant field with five years of working experience in similar position

An excellent technical background in the field of trade policies and strategy development

At least three years of experience in organisational capacity building, preferably within the context of government structures
-
Good knowledge of Nepalese governmental system and its administrative processes
-
Good communication, presentation and writing skills in Nepali and English
