JOB SUMMARY

Under the overall guidance and supervision of Regional Finance & Admin Officer (RFAO), Accountant shall work for smooth operation of Nepal Flood Recovery project. He/She must adhere to the principles of LWF Nepal and must follow in thought, words and deeds. Work together joined hand in hand to meet the goal of the organization. The main responsibility is to manage the financial administration of Easter Region Center.

 

  1. GENERAL
  •  Familiarize and work in accordance with the Vision, Mission, Overall Goals and Objectives of LWF as a Humanitarian Organization.
  • Familiarize and work in accordance with the established strategies of LWF Nepal.
  • Familiarize and work accordance with the LWF Nepal policies.
  • Be free from the political influence of any parties and the political activates

 

  1. Specific Tasks:
  • Check all the vouchers with supporting documents and proper account coding.
  • Check all expenditures and ensure that policy is fully compliance i.e. Govt tax and procurement.
  • Assist in ACCPAC entry.
  • Follow up GoN tax policy and compliance accordingly.
  • Support to IPs in order to maintain/reduce possible compliance issues
  • Forward all original invoices with details of statement to LWF Kathmandu office for VAT refund and keep track of it.
  • Handle petty cash and prepare all types of vouchers.
  • Through check of all supporting documents before passed the vouchers.
  • Disbursement of payment to the suppliers as per schedule.
  • Verify date, amount, authorized signature and ensure before cheque disbursement/hand over to party.
  • Deposit tax at GoN revenue account in time and handover of tax deposit certificate to the suppliers.
  • Keep all payment vouchers, cheques and other financial related documents in safe custody.
  • Deposit staff salary in individual account through fill up individual bank voucher in the related bank.
  • Staff tax calculation as per GoN rules.
  • Send Staff PF & PF Loan at Nabil Bank Ltd, Damak, CIT and any other deposit able to Kathmandu Head Office by end of each month.
  • Prepare bank reconciliation, prepare schedule of debtors and creditors.
  • Visit Implementing Partner’s office and verify the financial report with documents.
  • Ensure fund is timely disbursed to the partners as per their requirement.
  • Performs any other tasks as assigned by RFAO.
  • 50-60% field visits to the project sites to support on financial management system of the IPs

 

 

1. Reporting

  • Assist Regional Finance and Admin Officer to prepare reports as per the reporting schedules.
  • Prepare documents as per the requirement of the different donors/auditors.
  • Necessary recommendation for the improvement of method/system if any applicable.

 

  1. Office Management
  • Consider environment in a positive way i.e. minimize use of paper, transportation, consumption of electricity, & telephone etc.
  • Harmony relationship and good working environment with colleagues, party and other partnering agency.
  • Carry out any other tasks assigned by Regional Finance and Admin Officer as and when required.

 

  1. Other duties:
  • Thorough study of LWF donor’s agreement and their goals, requirements and reporting dead line, Field
  • Manual, Finance Manual and policies.
  • Familiarize with LWF Nepal's policies and procedures like country strategy, respective project documents, human resource policy, management guidelines, code of conduct, child protection policy, complaint mechanism, accountability framework, human rights based approach to development, AIN social audit guidelines, etc.
  • Ensure compliances of LWF Nepal policies, child protection policy and code of conduct.
  • Contribute to strengthen accountability in LWF Nepal.
  • Contribute to strengthen gender and social inclusion in LWF Nepal.
  • Contribute to strengthen resource mobilization in LWF Nepal Attend LWF Nepal's forums and meetings as and when required.
  • Maintain impartiality from party political influence.

Job Specification

Qualifications and Competencies:

  • Minimum intermediate level (10+2 level) completed in management from a recognized institution
  • 2 years of relevant experience in financial management system (preferably I/NGOs experience)
