Job Description

Handicap International Federation (HI) is an independent and impartial aid organization, created in 1982, working across 63 countries. HI works alongside the vulnerable populations, whatever the context, taking action to respond to their essential needs, improve their living conditions and promote respect for their dignity and fundamental rights.Present in Nepal since 2000, HI works through a network of local partner organizations in the area of health and physical rehabilitation, inclusive education and resilience including emergency response to improve the living conditions and involvement of the most vulnerable populations in Nepal.

The Reading for All (RFA) Program is a three-year program that works to improve early grade reading outcomes among children with disabilities in grades 1– 3. Implemented in 5,104 schools in the 16 National Early Grade Reading Program focus districts, the USAID supported program strengthens the Government of Nepal’s institutional capacity at federal, provincial and local levels to implement its constitutional and policy commitments to disability inclusive education.

HI Nepal invites applications for the following job positions to contribute in the implementation of its RFA project.

2.  MEL Officer – 1 Position

Terms & Conditions:1 year contract based in Country Office, Kathmandu with frequent field visits

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead for organizing external and internal project specific evaluations on Inclusive Education as required in consultation with MEAL Manager and Program Manager.
  • Facilitate Project baseline, Knowledge, Attitude and Practices (KAP) surveys to track the changed perceptions
  • Support Early detection of children  with functional limitations and data analysis Monitor the Project Indicators, develop project specific beneficiaries database and review partners’ report as per the need of project,
  • Coordinate with consortium partner’s MEL officer for project monitoring and data consolidation
  • Provide donor report as per donor requirement. Build capacity of  partner and team member on monitoring and reporting

Qualification and Skills:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Social Sciences or related field
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in project data management and M&E, preferably focused on Education 
  • Knowledge of MEAL practices/approaches, data management and analysis
  • Demonstrable Team Management skills
  • Good interpersonal, communication and coordination skills
