Job Description

Scope of Work:

  • Clients’ management and support
  • Vendors' management
  • Solicitation management
  • Contracts management

  • Operational Supply Support
  • Under the guidance of the Chief of Supply section coordinate with UNICEF Nutrition and Health sections and government counterparts – Ministry of Health and Population/ Family Welfare Division and the NNMS survey implementing partner New Era to ensure timely delivery of supplies.

Job Specification

Education:

  • An advanced University degree in Procurement, Contracts / Commercial Law, Business administration, Economics, Supply Chain Management or related field.
  • A first University degree may be accepted in lieu of an Advanced university degree in conjunction with two additional years of relevant work experience. Master’s degree in human resources, sociology, business or related fields

Knowledge/Expertise/Skills required:

  • Minimum 5 years of relevant professional work experience in Procurement / Contracting of services.
  • Experience working with UNICEF / other UN agencies is desirable.

 Required Skills:

  • Prior experience with the SAP system is necessary, especially with the Vision logistics module.
  • Should have a background in global procurement contract negotiations and administration, as well as broader economic expertise or relevant technical fields.
  • A comprehensive grasp of the service contracting process is expected, including programme needs assessment, terms of reference review, solicitation, evaluation, contract awarding, and monitoring.
  • Familiar with UNICEF programmes, possess knowledge of financial and legal aspects related to contracting ethics, and understand risk management practices.
  • Quick learning abilities, adaptability, responsiveness to change, and tolerance for ambiguity are considered valuable assets.
  • Excellent English skills, both spoken and written, are required.
  • Ability to thrive in a multicultural setting and build positive relationships both inside and outside the organization is essential.
