Scope of Work:
Prepare a quarterly Education ROSA network newsletter, including:
- Coordinating with country KM focal points to gather content
- Reviewing and drafting the newsletter, ensuring a well-structured design with engaging text and visual elements (graphics, charts, pictures, etc.)
Assist Country Offices (COs) in preparing knowledge management resources using UNICEF templates and other innovative formats as required:
- Prepare a quarterly content pipeline
- Support COs in identifying topics and appropriate templates, assist in drafting, undertake quality checks, and provide guidance on design and layout as required
- Assist COs in content development for advocacy and visibility
- Provide technical guidance on messaging, storytelling, and design
Produce high-quality knowledge management materials such as case studies and human-interest stories:
- Develop at least three Human Interest Stories (HIS) on key education themes
- Support COs in drafting case studies that highlight best practices and program impact
- Support COs and ROSA in preparing funding proposals by researching and compiling relevant data, evidence, pictures, charts, and graphics
Facilitate peer-to-peer learning exchanges between countries or regions, including:
- Developing concept notes for learning exchanges
- Managing logistics (including webinars) and documentation like two-pager, minute or report.
- Supporting knowledge-sharing efforts post-event
Develop and implement a dissemination plan and M&E framework to track and evaluate the reach and effectiveness of ROSA Education knowledge products
Job Specification
Education: University Degree (Bachelor's) in Education, Development Studies, Social Sciences, International Relations, or related fields.
Knowledge/Expertise/Skills required:
- A minimum of 3 years' experience in the Education sector in developing countries. Good understanding of education programme and contexts is desirable
- Experience in editing and writing on different topics related to the Education sector and/or social sciences more broadly.
- Excellent analytical and writing skills, and demonstrated record of high-quality publications on Education, social sciences, and/or development studies.
- Knowledge and demonstratable experience of reviewing, editing, report writing, and proofreading.
- Previous experience editing and writing for UNICEF and familiarity with UNICEF's style guidelines would be an asset.
- Proficient ability to efficiently manage a large amount of information and cloud-based filing systems (i.e.: Microsoft SharePoint, Teams)
