Job Description

 Position: Research and Learning Advisor (Kathmandu based with field visits)

This post is designed to provide research support across the UMN thematic areas and manage research projects. The post-holder will report to the Learning, Policy and Strategy (LPS) Team Leader. Working closely with UMN Cluster Teams and Technical Teams, s/he will play a key role in identification, design and management of research projects, writing/editing research reports, and strengthening the use of learning both internally and externally. The job also involves providing support in the monitoring and evaluation of UMN projects/partnerships and situation assessments.

Minimum qualifications
• Master’s Degree in Social Sciences, Development or another relevant subject;
• Substantial knowledge and experience of social research methods and statistical techniques
• Experience in working for I/NGOs as a researcher or Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning expert;
• Excellent writing skills in English;
• A good networker with excellent interpersonal skills.
Salary range: NRP 62,000 to 69,000 basic salary per month
