Context BBC Media Action uses various forms of media and communications to tackle poverty and contribute to long-term change in some of the world’s poorest places.

To achieve this, we partner with civil society, local media and governments to:

• Produce creative programmes based on robust research in multi-media formats which inform and engage audiences around key development issues.

• Strengthen the media sector through building professional capacity and infrastructure.

Job Title: Radio Drama Producers

Location: Kathmandu and District outside of Kathmandu BBC Media Action in Nepal is implementing a project that will build the capacity of radio producers to produce drama content that helps contribute to changes in attitudes and behaviours to reduce sexual violence in post-conflict/transitional Nepal.

The project will work in partnership with two FM stations in Nepal to support the production of a series of high quality radio drama programmes for local audiences. We are looking for two Radio Drama Producers to train and mentor the FM stations to produce the drama programmes. Essential skills and experience

• Experience of producing radio and/or television drama programmes for Nepalese audiences.

• Radio production skills including producing editorial content and technical recording and post-production skills. • Demonstrable creative ability.

 • Well-developed understanding of key development needs of Nepal and the issues of Sexual Violence in post-conflict/transitional Nepal.

 A proven track record in training and mentoring teams to produce engaging radio content for local audiences.

• Experience in the design of training programmes and a well-developed understanding of different learning styles. • Experience of managing teams of varied ability and encouraging best outputs from team members.

• Ability to work on own initiative and organise time effectively within a range of often conflicting deadlines.
