Contract type: Fixed Term
Contract length: 4 months
Full Time: 35 hours per week

Role overview

Working with young people in an international development context, managing projects at a community level, the Project Officer will be responsible for effective ICS project delivery by supporting Team Leaders, partners, host homes and volunteers through pastoral support, guidance on project implementation and ensuring safety, security and welfare processes in the project implementation community with the support of Project Coordinator.

Skills, qualifications and experience

  • 2 years’ experience of working with and providing support to 18-25 year old from a wide range of backgrounds with proven ability to facilitate learning in a non-formal environment.
  • Direct and substantial experience of working cross-culturally and able to communicate to a range of audiences and promote sharing and learning between cultures.
  • Possession of strong verbal communication to work effectively and inclusively with an overseas colleague. Strong written communication skills (in English) needed for writing reports.
  • Significant experience of working in a supervisory role. Proven ability to promote self-awareness, learning and development among individuals.
  • Able to work away from the home including weekend and work long hours. This position demands stay and travel within project area.
  • Sufficient experience of working with volunteers to understand the key factors which make volunteer placements viable, effective and rewarding.
  • Bachelor’s degree in relevant subject with at least two years relevant experience.
  • IT (MS office) proficiency.
  • Experience of managing budgets and undertaking accounting procedures.
  • Experience of designing and evaluating youth programmes in an international context. Experience of using monitoring and evaluation tools and processes.

There are two positions opening for this job. Placement of this position is within Project Implementation Locations i.e.Surkhet/Lamjung/Baglung or any other location which is subject to change as per project requirement
