Agriculture & Livestock Officer (ALO) (Level 6 Or 7) – 1

Each To Be Based In Makwanpur And Ramechhap District

Local Initiatives for Biodiversity, Research and Development (LI-BIRD) is a non-profit making, non-governmental organization established in October 1995 with its Head Office in Pokhara. LI-BIRD is committed to capitalizing on local initiatives for sustainable management of renewable natural resources and improving livelihoods of rural people in Nepal and the South Asia region. Community Resiliency Programme, SABAL is a USAID funded project implemented in six districts (Khotang, Makwanpur, Okhaldhunga, Ramechhap, Sindhuli and Udaypur) from 2014 to 2019 under the lead of Save the Children with LI-BIRD as a consortium partner. The project aims to increase resilience of targeted vulnerable populations in Nepal.

LI-BIRD invites applications from eligible Nepali citizens who are reliable, accountable and have the ability to deliver results with the highest integrity for the position. 

Job Summary: The ALO reports to Cluster Coordinators and is responsible for providing technical inputs to effectively coordinate amongst SABAL partners and implement agriculture and livestock interventions. ALO's major duties include: provide technical support for implementation of agriculture and livestock activities; enhance capacity of farmers, farmers' groups and partners' staff; and monitoring and supervision of field activities.

Education and Experience: Masters or Bachelors in Agriculture/ Veterinary Science. Candidates with two years of work experience in relevant fields will have an advantage.
