Job Summary: The Plant Breeder reports to Senior Programme Manager and will be responsible to manage Participatory Crop Improvement (PCI) portfolio including overall participatory plant breeding activities and specific projects. The major duties include: management of Evolutionary Plant Breeding (EPB) project; overseeing the maintenance of released and registered varieties; data analysis, coordination of varietal evaluations research; development of variety release & registration proposals; conducting policy-research on seed and seed system; maintaining relationship with national research and extension systems including local governments; managing source seed production; monitoring and quality control; data management; report writing and publication.
Education and Experience: Master’s degree in Agriculture (Plant Breeding) with five years of work experience in the related field.
