Job Description

Position: Technical Officer- Assistant Sub-Engineer

Location: Program VDCs based at Dolakha, Nuwakot and Dhading Districts

Duration of Employment:
ï‚· One year fixed term contract (extendable)

Education:
ï‚· Technical SLC

Prior work Experience:
ï‚· Two year in similar position

Language:
ï‚· English and Nepali in speaking, reading and writing are required.

Skills and abilities:

ï‚· Familiar with construction techniques
ï‚· Training delivery and social mobilization
ï‚· familiar with various computer software packages, including Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Outlook and Excel

Detail Term of Reference:

ï‚· Conducting/assisting various training programs and orientations in program VDC
ï‚· Regular Supervision and monitoring of construction activities
ï‚· Estimation of quantities of materials in various construction activities
ï‚· Coordinate activities with senior staff
ï‚· Perform other duties as assigned

Organization Summary

 

National Society for Earthquake Technology-Nepal (NSET), with funding support from United States Agency for International Development (USAID), is implementing a 5-year “Baliyo Ghar” program to contribute to safer reconstruction in Nepal.


The objective of the program is to ensure disaster- resilient construction of houses through awareness, training, demonstration and support on code compliance. The program aims to expand the technical knowledge and expertise gathered during the program implementation for achieving the broader goal of disaster resilient housing construction in Nepal.
