Position: Construction Technician
Location: One each for Dolakha, Nuwakot and Dhading
Duration of Employment:
ï‚· One year fixed term contract (extendable)
Education:
ï‚· Can read and write and must have a mason training certificate
Prior work Experience:
ï‚· Practicing masons in Building construction (Rural or Urban)
Language:
ï‚· Nepali in speaking, reading and writing are required.
Skills and abilities:
ï‚· Knowledge of related tools, masonry techniques, equipment and materials
ï‚· Familiar with earthquake resistant building construction techniques
ï‚· Able to read engineering drawings and implement the design
Detail Term of Reference:
ï‚· Assisting in various training programs and orientations
ï‚· Construct a training models and demonstration models
ï‚· Working/supervision of various construction activities
ï‚· Transferring skills to other masons as required in different locations
ï‚· Facilitating the team in technical aspects
ï‚· Coordinate activities with senior staffs
ï‚· Perform other duties as assigned

National Society for Earthquake Technology-Nepal (NSET), with funding support from United States Agency for International Development (USAID), is implementing a 5-year “Baliyo Ghar” program to contribute to safer reconstruction in Nepal.
The objective of the program is to ensure disaster- resilient construction of houses through awareness, training, demonstration and support on code compliance. The program aims to expand the technical knowledge and expertise gathered during the program implementation for achieving the broader goal of disaster resilient housing construction in Nepal.
