Job Description

Position: Civil Sub-Engineer
Location: Dolakha, Nuwakot and Dhading District with frequent travel to VDC.

Duration of Employment:
ï‚· One year fixed term contract (extendable)

Education:
ï‚· Diploma in Civil Engineering

Prior work Experience:
ï‚· One year in similar position

Language:
ï‚· Fluent English and Nepali in speaking, reading and writing are required.

Skills and abilities:
ï‚· AutoCAD
ï‚· Familiar with various computer software packages, including Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Outlook and Excel

Detail Term of Reference:
ï‚· Conducting/assisting training programs and orientations at different locations
ï‚· Coordinate and facilitation of Mason Training at district
ï‚· Regular Supervision and monitoring of construction
ï‚· Drawings and Estimating of various construction activities
ï‚· Coordinate activities with senior staff
ï‚· Produce written reports on performed activities and outcomes
ï‚· Perform other duties as assigned.

Organization Summary

 

National Society for Earthquake Technology-Nepal (NSET), with funding support from United States Agency for International Development (USAID), is implementing a 5-year “Baliyo Ghar” program to contribute to safer reconstruction in Nepal.


The objective of the program is to ensure disaster- resilient construction of houses through awareness, training, demonstration and support on code compliance. The program aims to expand the technical knowledge and expertise gathered during the program implementation for achieving the broader goal of disaster resilient housing construction in Nepal.
