Job Description

Position: Civil Engineer
Location: One each for Dolakha, Nuwakot and Dhading.

Duration of Employment:
ï‚· One year fixed term contract (extendable)

Education:
ï‚· Bachelors in Civil Engineering

Prior work Experience:
ï‚· Minimum one year of experience in similar position

Language:
ï‚· Nepali and English in speaking, reading and writing are required.

Skills and abilities:
ï‚· AutoCAD, MS project
ï‚· Familiar with various computer software packages, including Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Outlook and Excel

Detail Term of Reference:
ï‚· Conducting/assisting number of training programs and orientations as per the scope of the project
ï‚· Prepare drawings and estimation of quantities for various constructions
ï‚· Deliver knowledge and skill based Trainings for construction workforce (Engineers, Sub- Engineers, Contractors, Mason etc.)
ï‚· Supervision of construction, operations, and maintenance activities at project site
ï‚· Coordinate activities with senior staff
ï‚· Produce written reports on activities and outcomes
ï‚· Perform other duties as assigned

Organization Summary

 

National Society for Earthquake Technology-Nepal (NSET), with funding support from United States Agency for International Development (USAID), is implementing a 5-year “Baliyo Ghar” program to contribute to safer reconstruction in Nepal.


The objective of the program is to ensure disaster- resilient construction of houses through awareness, training, demonstration and support on code compliance. The program aims to expand the technical knowledge and expertise gathered during the program implementation for achieving the broader goal of disaster resilient housing construction in Nepal.
