Job Description

Pact, a non-p rofit oranization based in Washington DC, is implementing a USAID-funded project, Sajhedari Bikaas, aimed at empowering local communities to direct their own development. Pad has an immediate need for highly competent Nepali citizen to fill the following position.

Senior Regional Program Manager (West)

The incumbent will have primary responsibility for guiding and supervising staff, overseeing implementing partners (Iles), and providing technical coordination of project implementation in four target districts (Dhading, Gorkha, Lamjung, and Makwanpur). The position is based in Anbu Khaireni with extensive travel to project areas. The Senior Regional Program Manager reports to the Senior Field Director, Recovery.

 

Specific Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Facilitates and monitors the attainment of programmatic goal and objectives
  • Provides support and guidance to line managers and the implementing partners to evaluate, plan, and implement local projects
  • Works with local government units and communities to identify priority areas and quick-win strategies
  • Performs other related duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Masters degree in social science or equivalent in relevant field
  • A minimum 8 years of experience working with/managing grants to NGOs. Relevant fields include small scale infrastructure, local governance, conflict mitigation, and participatory community program design and implementation.
  • Program experience in implementing USAID programs or similar programs with other international donors
  • English fluency, both in written and verbal
  • Expertise in small scale infrastructure is highly desirable

Preference for:

  • Demonstrated capacity to manage complex programs with many implementation sites, partners and beneficiaries
  • Ability and willingness to work in a challenging and dynamic environment and engage community-based groups as development partners
  • Strong communication skills, cultural sensitivity, and respect for diversity
  • Prepared to work in a team management environment
