Job Description

Urban Planner: 4-5 positions

The incumbent will serve as a technical expert for municipality building by laws.  S/he will work closely with the SB’s Governance Manager and report to the Senior Field Director, core program districts. 

Specific duties and responsibilities:

  • Localize building by laws
  • Undertake technical and feasibility studies including sites verification
  • Provide technical assistance to prepare urban planning and building construction standards
  • Provide technical assistance to prepare Public places and road standard
  • Provide technical assistance to develop norms for settlement planning
  • Perform duties as mentioned in the ToR as approved by MoFALD  

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in Urban Planning  or Architect /Civil engineer
  • Minimum of seven years of experience working in the relevant field
  • A sound understanding of building by laws/ building code
  • Excellent computer literacy in Word, Excel and PowerPoint are required
  • English and Nepali fluency required
