Job Description

Civil Engineer: 4-5 positions

The incumbents will serve as technical experts to support the implementation of municipality building by laws.  The engineers will work closely with SB’s Governance Manager and report to Senior Field Director, core program districts.  SB may choose to slightly reduce or increase the number of engineers.

Specific duties and responsibilities:

  • Support to localize building by laws
  • Undertake technical and feasibility studies including sites verification
  • Prepare urban plans and building construction standards
  • Prepare public place and road standards
  • Develop norms for settlement planning
  • Perform duties as mentioned in the ToR and as approved by MoFALD

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering
  • Minimum of five years of experience in the above or related  field
  • A sound understanding of building by laws/ building code highly preferred
  • Excellent computer literacy in Word, Excel and PowerPoint are required
  • English and Nepali fluency required
